Hygiene Recall Service:
Your hygienist may require you to have a more frequent cleaning, other than the usual, every 6 months period. Some patients, depending on their oral health, will benefit from having a 4-month or 3-month visit.
Who benefits for recall, professional cleaning every 4 months, or 3 months instead of the usual 6 months recall?
- If you need frequent removal of biofilm, a colonizing bacteria that forms in your mouth and sticks to the tooth’s surface (aka: tough Plaque) and calculus, to help prevent Gum disease.
- If you are on Blood Thinners or taking a long list of medications, including drugs for Osteoporosis
- If you have active Gum Infections or Periodontal Disease;
- If you have a dental appliance such as Braces or a retainer;
- If you are pregnant, pregnancy puts you at a higher risk for tooth decay and gum disease. This is because hormonal changes increase the risk of developing gum disease, which, in turn, can affect the health of your developing baby.
Oral surgery may be recommended when a tooth or condition requires a more advanced level of care.
These procedures are performed with careful planning and attention to patient comfort.

The benefits of Hygiene Recall:
Prevent Plaque Build-up
When plaque builds up, it causes discoloration of the teeth, tooth decay, and gum problems.
Help Prevent Decay
Diagnose tooth decay early! With proper professional cleaning and annual exams, we can help prevent decay left untreated and minimize the option of cost procedure in the future.
Detect Gum Disease
We can help detect the first sign of gum disease before it becomes a serious complication. If left untreated, it could cause pain, swelling, bone loss, and eventually loss of teeth.
Minimize costly procedures
Identifying oral problems early can help you minimize costs by treating them early before the problem develops into a complicated and costly procedure.
Gain Self-Confidence
Regular visits will ensure a healthy smile and boost your self–confidence.
To assist our patients in practicing good dental hygiene, our hygienist will help schedule your next return appointment upon completion of your initial hygiene visit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept dental insurance?
Yes, we accept many dental insurance plans. Our team can help you understand your benefits and estimate your out of pocket costs before treatment.
How do I know which treatment option is right for me?
We begin with a detailed exam and take time to understand your concerns, goals, and oral health needs. Then we explain your options clearly so you can feel confident about your care.
Can I get a same day appointment?
We do our best to accommodate same day appointments whenever possible, especially for urgent dental concerns. Please call our Eureka or McKinleyville office to check availability.
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first visit usually includes a comprehensive exam, digital X rays if needed, and a conversation about your dental history and goals. We will make sure you feel informed and comfortable throughout.
Is root canal therapy painful?
Root canal therapy is designed to relieve pain, not cause it. With modern techniques and local anesthesia, most patients find the procedure much more comfortable than expected.
When would I need a dental crown?
A dental crown may be recommended when a tooth is weakened, cracked, heavily filled, or restored after a root canal. It helps protect the tooth while restoring its strength and appearance.
Are dental implants a good option for replacing missing teeth?
Dental implants are a reliable, long term option for replacing missing teeth. We will evaluate your oral health, bone support, and goals to see if implants are the right fit for you.
